The Wingman Way
Growth with integrity
Client geography & niches
Wingman MSP Marketing works with clients all over the world. We want to continue to grow our business, but in the right way, backed by the right values. The more we grow, the higher the probability we will be asked to take on clients in similar locations and with similar niches.
Our statement on how we manage this is below.
____________
General thoughts
Marketing challenges are always different and we believe there is no conflict of interest in attempting to support MSP businesses who need help. At the same time, the Wingman team has proud values, will always use our best judgement in specific situations and will continue to turn down business if …
- … an MSP is targeting a specific market vertical within a similar geographic area to a similarly focused MSP who we’re already working with. (First come, first served).
- … an MSP business is looking to focus on a smaller rural location as an existing Wingman client. In this case, they are are likely to be in direct competition with a low level of market opportunity, meaning we would be unlikely to generate an ROI.
Where the above rules do not apply, but we are asked to supply marketing services to two MSPs within the same target territory …”
- We will always maintain impartiality and will not favour one client over the other. The best and most appropriate strategies are deployed in each case.
- A different virtual marketing manager will be assigned.
- We will work in the best interests of all clients at all times.
Outbound marketing specific
We will never proactively market to the same target contacts and have a process in place to actively dedupe sourced contact data.
We will never offer telemarketing services to more than one company targeting a similar market, in the same geographic area.
Having our team potentially call the same people, representing different businesses isn’t something we’re comfortable with. We have turned down business before. We will continue to do the right thing.
Inbound marketing specific
We do not have control over the target audience when we offer services such as Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). MSP businesses will generally target identical key phrases for their target geography – we will of course follow suit.
We will therefore occasionally target key phrases on behalf of more than one MSP business. We believe this is ethically acceptable. As an example, some MSPs will claim national coverage – we need to be able to support their needs.
For every website we support, we will adopt the best SEO practices.
