Whether youโ€™re looking to attract new clients, build stronger relationships, or refine your messaging, this series is packed with actionable insights and hopefully a dose of inspiration to give your MSP a winning edge.

Weโ€™re also going to launch a brand new programme to help you to take your marketing to the next level.

Letโ€™s make 2025 your best year yet. Stay tuned and get ready to Jumpstart January! ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 2 ๐ŸŒŸ

Your websiteโ€™s footer ยฉ date might seem like a small detail, but it speaks volumes about your business.

๐Ÿ›  Action Step: Take a moment right now to review and update your footer for 2025. Ensure your copyright date, contact details and surround links reflect the polished, professional image you want your MSP to project.

โœจ Why it matters: See a website with a  ยฉ2020 at the bottom? How do you feel? Itโ€™s a subtle but important opportunity to reinforce trust and show attention to detail. Let it set the tone for your business in 2025.

Make the updates, and let your website work smarter for you this year. ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 3 ๐ŸŒŸ

Letโ€™s talk about about moments of magic – those small, thoughtful touches that turn good relationships into great ones.

๐ŸŽ Action Step: Surprise a client or two with a thoughtful gift or gesture. Whether itโ€™s a handwritten note, a personalized gift, or an unexpected token of appreciation, these moments create lasting impressions.

๐Ÿ’ก Why it matters: Building strong relationships isnโ€™t just about delivering great service – itโ€™s about showing your clients you value them as people. These moments of magic stand out and foster loyalty, making your business unforgettable.

When Nigel Moore sent our director, Mark Copeman this branded Yeti as a thank you – he of course wrote and thanked him … and told him how envious his wife, Suzanne Copeman was of his shiny new mug.

You can guess what turned up a couple of weeks later?

Start creating memories that matter in 2025. ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 4 ๐ŸŒŸ

Are you truly connecting with the right audience? Maybe it’s time to reflect on your target market and align it with your purpose.

We see so many MSPs struggling with knowing where to niche down or focus their campaigns.

๐Ÿ’ก Action Step: Use the concept of Ikigaiโ€”the Japanese idea of finding purposeโ€”to refine your focus:
What does your business love to do? โค๏ธ
What are you great at? ๐Ÿ’ช
What does your market truly need? ๐ŸŒŸ
What will people happily pay for? ๐Ÿ’ต

โœจ Why it matters: When you focus on a market that aligns with your skills, passion, and value, youโ€™ll not only grow your business but also find fulfillment in your work.

Reflect, refine, and align – your ideal clients are waiting for you in 2025. ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 5 ๐ŸŒŸ

Your business isnโ€™t just about tech and services – itโ€™s about people! Today, we’d like to challenge you to get focused on adding personality to your social media posts.

๐Ÿ“ธ Action Step: Share photos of your team in action, celebrate new starters, or highlight the humans behind your brand. Authentic moments build connection and trust.

๐Ÿ’ก Why it works: People love to work with businesses they feel connected to. Sharing your teamโ€™s story shows your companyโ€™s culture, values, and approachability – making you stand out in a crowded market.

Whilst your company profile (like this one) is important – if you’re an MSP owner – you will DEFINITELY get more engagement and traction from your own account. Your personal brand matters.

Show the world the personality behind the professionalism – just as we try to do here at Wingman. Let your social presence shine in 2025! ๐Ÿš€

(You’ll find that post shown below here: https://lnkd.in/eBpn7AQH )

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 6 ๐ŸŒŸ

ChatGPT and CoPilot are shaping how people search – and we have already seen it driving leads! ๐Ÿš€

๐Ÿ›  Action Step: Have you ever searched for your business on ChatGPT or CoPilot? Try it today. See how your company is represented in AI-driven queries.

Try a prompt such as: “Recommend me a great IT support company in YOUR TOWN”

๐Ÿ’ก Why it matters: For AI tools like ChatGPT to recommend you, your website content needs to be clear, relevant, and optimized. Make sure your services, location, and expertise are well-documented, and keep your messaging concise and conversational on your website.

โœจ Pro Tip: Focus on crafting helpful, high-quality content that answers common client questions – this increases your visibility in the new era of AI search.

2025 is very much the time to get your content GPT-ready and capture the leads of the future – we are now starting to see leads come through to our clients via the AI tools and expect to see an increase in enquiries in 2025.

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 7 ๐ŸŒŸ

Is it time to get out from behind the keyboard? Face to face is a HUGELY important part of the marketing mix.

๐Ÿ›  Action Step: Take time today to map out the events youโ€™ll attend this year. Ask yourself:
Where will your prospects and partners be?
What events align with your goals?
How can you maximize your presence while youโ€™re there?

๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป IT events are perhaps inside your comfort zone. Invest the time and energy in being part of your target market’s events too.

๐Ÿ’ก Why it matters: Events are more than just networking opportunities – theyโ€™re a chance to build real connections, showcase your expertise, and generate leads. But success starts with a plan.

โœจ Pro Tip: Define your event strategy before you go. Set goals, identify key people to meet, and plan your follow-up to make the most of every handshake.

Ready to make 2025 the year you stand out at every event? ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 8 ๐ŸŒŸ

Need an injection of inspiration? We’ve just launched something just for you.

At the start of 2024, Dave Sutton and Mark Copeman launched the concept of the MSP Marketing operating Systemโ„ข. We liked it so much, we trademarked it and it forms the basis of everything we do for our clients.

The process absolutely works.

With MSPs on every street corner, competition is tough. Those who stand out from the crowd, who are โ€œPersistent, Patient and Consistentโ€ (the other PPC) with their marketing, shine through. However, we see so many who currently are struggling. Their expertise is IT, not marketing and sales.

We want to help.

To reach more businesses, we have created the ๐Œ๐’๐ ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ค๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐›๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ž๐ฉ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ญ โ€“ a โ€œhow-toโ€ programme designed for both marketing managers and MSP owners who need a starting point and plan for their marketing. It’s based on our MSP Marketing operating System.

Almost 5 hours of video, across 27 modules, alongside downloadable assets, checklists, copy examples, an example proposal and more, all based on our real-world experiences of getting results for MSPs around the world over the last 8 years.

Beta tester feedback has been great:

Every Wingman client is getting free access but we want to make it available to all.

If youโ€™re looking to take your marketing to the next level in 2025, the programme was released last week and you can grab a FREE trial by clicking here.

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 9 ๐ŸŒŸ

Not a fan of sales and marketing? Youโ€™re not alone. To help – maybe it’s time for a change of mindset?

๐Ÿ’ก Action Step: Shift your mindset today:
Think of lead generation or sales as simply “starting conversations” – focus on helping, not selling.
View marketing as a structured process rather than an unpredictable art.
Accept that not everyone will engage with your content right away – consistency builds trust over time.

โœจ Why it matters: By reframing how you approach sales and marketing, youโ€™ll feel less pressure and more confidence.
The goal isnโ€™t instant results; itโ€™s building a long-term connection with the
right audience.

Wake up in the morning and have to “do lead gen” feels VERY different to waking up, thinking creatively about how to “start conversations” with some new contacts in your target market.

We truly practice what we preach here at Wingman. It’s all about starting conversations, building trust and creating long term relationships.

Start thinking differently, and youโ€™ll start seeing results. ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸJumpstart January: Day 10 ๐ŸŒŸ

Stop throwing money at PPC! ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ’ธ

Pay-per-click campaigns can be powerful, but in a B2B environment, itโ€™s time to stop blindly sending bad traffic to average landing pages and hoping for the best.

Sadly we see way too many businesses literally setting fire to money.

๐Ÿ’ก Action Step: Audit your PPC strategy:
Are your ads targeting the right audience?
Are your landing pages optimized to convert traffic into leads?
Is your content relevant and aligned with your prospects’ actual needs?

โœจ Why it matters: PPC should amplify a strong marketing foundation, not mask a weak one. Without a clear strategy, youโ€™re paying for clicks that lead nowhere. Focus on building meaningful campaigns that attract quality traffic and deliver real value.

Please think twice before handing over your money to the ad companies. ๐Ÿ’ฐ

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 11 ๐ŸŒŸ

Telemarketing isnโ€™t dead – itโ€™s just misunderstood! โ˜Ž๏ธ

When done right, telemarketing is still a powerful tool to start meaningful conversations with prospects. In fact, it’s the ONLY way to have a 1:1 real time conversation with a target.

๐Ÿ’ก Action Step: Use telemarketing to:
Reach out to warm leads who already know your business.
Share valuable insights or updates rather than a hard sales pitch.
To canvas opinion / carry out research
Focus on listening first and understanding their challenges.

โœจ Why it works: Telemarketing is about connection, not interruption. A well-placed call can cut through the digital noise and create opportunities for genuine engagement.
Timing is of course, everything.
The more you do it, the ‘luckier’ you get.

Pick up the phone, start a conversation, and see where it leads. ๐Ÿš€

Wingman has its own in-house telemarketing team which gets results every week of the year. We’ve taken some of our experiences and put them into a single article here.

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 12 ๐ŸŒŸ

USPs are hard to find these days – but hereโ€™s one that no competitor can copy: YOU.
Your teamโ€™s personalities and “likeability” are what make your business truly unique. People work with people they trust and enjoy interacting with.

๐Ÿ’ก Action Step: Showcase your personality in your marketing:
Share team stories or behind-the-scenes moments.
Use videos to introduce your team – clients love putting faces to names.
Let your brand voice reflect your teamโ€™s personality – whether itโ€™s friendly, approachable, or fun.

โœจ Why it works: In a world of sameness, authenticity and human connection stand out. Your business isnโ€™t just a service – itโ€™s a relationship.
Remember, you’re attempting to persuade a prospect to hand over the keys to their kingdom. Establishing trust is everything.

Lean into your people as your USP, and let your personality shine. ๐Ÿš€

It maybe 2025, but people still buy from people.

Oh, the image? It’s a slide from our end of year team meeting. Wingman is all about personality.

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 13 ๐ŸŒŸ

A “Contact Us” button isnโ€™t a call to action. Is it time to rethink how you engage your visitors?

๐Ÿ’ก Action Step: Create an irresistible call to action (CTA) that sparks engagement. Instead of simply asking for contact, offer something of value:

Assess their team for cybersecurity knowledge
Provide a short consultation – F2F ideally.
Offer some kind of audit – is the incumbent up to scratch?
Could you provide a simple on-site audit around productivity and automation? We know businesses doing this and it works.

โœจ Why it works: Offering value upfront builds trust and creates a natural entry point for a conversation. People are more likely to engage when they see immediate benefits.

Wingman practices what we preach – our CTA – a free website review. Each month we receive multiple requests – it’s one way we start our conversations – why not try it out?

Ask yourself today: What can I give, not just ask for? ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 14 ๐ŸŒŸ

MSPs sell trust first – and IT second. ๐Ÿค

When prospects choose an MSP, theyโ€™re investing in a relationship. Your job is to build and showcase that trust at every touchpoint.

๐Ÿ’ก Action Step: Optimize your website and ongoing communications to highlight trust in the following ways:

Add testimonials and case studies to your website that show real results and happy clients.
Make sure you have a dedicated “Happy Customers” page
Display certifications and partnerships to validate your expertise.
Show your team – people trust people, not faceless brands.
Ensure you maintain a regular flow of Google Reviews
Include quotes / testimonials on your proposals

โœจ Why it matters: Trust is the foundation of every IT partnership. Show that youโ€™re reliable, transparent, and ready to support your clients’ success.
Show / demonstrate you’re trusted by others – derisk the buying process.
Make trust the cornerstone of your messaging in 2025. ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 15 ๐ŸŒŸ

Marketing and sales is very much marathon, not a sprint.
Embrace the fact that building a successful marketing and sales engine takes time and the other type of PPC – “Patience, Persistency & Consistency”.

YOU CANNOT SWITCH ON LEADS OVERNIGHT!

๐Ÿ’ก Action Step: Shift your mindset:
Stop looking for quick wins. Instead, focus on creating long-term value through consistent efforts.
Build a content calendar and commit to steady, high-quality output.
Track progress over months, not days, and celebrate milestones along the way whether that be social follows / website visit increases or prospect meetings.

Feeling progress will energise you.

โœจ Why it matters: You canโ€™t โ€œswitch onโ€ marketing and expect overnight results. Long-term strategies like content creation, relationship building, and brand awareness – only begin to work, when you stay the course.

Play the long game. Show up consistently, and the results will follow. ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 16 ๐ŸŒŸ

Donโ€™t overlook your biggest source of potential growth. How can you improve communications with your existing customers?

๐Ÿ’ก Action Steps:
Segment your customer list by industry, size, or services they already use.
Create a targeted email campaign with upsell or cross-sell opportunities
Think about how you could introduce a new service that complements what they already have.
Offer a paid or free assessment to uncover areas for improvement around productivity or automation perhaps
Use customer feedback to shape personalized solutions and show them youโ€™re proactive about their success. (If you donโ€™t do this โ€“ your competitors should be!)
Commit to creating a quarterly newsletter talking about your companyโ€™s latest news, wins, people and offers

โœจ Why it works: Happy customers are more likely to buy from you again and recommend your business to others. Communicating regularly strengthens relationships and creates new revenue streams.

Remember โ€“ many of your customers will not know the full breadth of your services. Avoid that from happening by communicating regularly.
Start with one email or call today. ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 17 ๐ŸŒŸ

Social proof is the most powerful tool for building trust and credibility. Getting it needs to become part of your MSP’s day to day processes๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ’ก Action Steps:
1) Reach out to your happiest clients and ask for a Google Review. Make it personal and keep it simple with an email or quick call. DO NOT email your entire client base asking for a review.
Get the timing right – ask when it feels right.
2) Create a “Happy Customers” page on your website to showcase these reviews. Ideally you’d include names and companies. If you prefer not to, anonymous is better than nothing!
3) Use these quotes and testimonials liberally across all marketing channels:
Social media posts.
Email campaigns.
Proposals and sales decks.

โœจ Why it works: Reviews and testimonials show prospects that you deliver real results. They provide the validation people need before committing to a partnership. Derisk the sales process by using social proof.

Start gathering social proof today – build your marketing balance sheet – youโ€™ll thank yourself tomorrow. ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒŸ Jumpstart January: Day 18 ๐ŸŒŸ

Your Google Business Profile is one of the first things your visitors and prospects come across – make it as good as it can be ๐Ÿ”Ž.

๐Ÿ’ก Action Steps:
Update your profile with accurate details (address, services, and hours).
Add high-quality photos of your team, office, or recent events.
Regularly post updates, offers, or insights to keep your profile active.
Encourage clients to leave reviews here โ€“ we know that it boosts local SEO as well as setting the tone.

Would you ever book a restaurant without checking reviews?
Itโ€™s the same for IT providers!

Also – while you’re at it – don’t neglect your Bing Places Profile either.

โœจ Why it matters: A polished, active Google Business Profile makes you more discoverable AND credible to prospects.

Take 15 minutes to review your profile today. ๐Ÿš€

And finally

You are expert at IT โ€“ how can you be expert at sales and marketing too?

Focus on what youโ€™re good at. Get help or outsourcing the other business functions you’re not expert in.

๐Ÿ’ก Action Steps:
Create a plan, reserve time & resource and forecast a budget
Get inspired โ€“ register for a trial of our MSP Marketing 101 blueprint. Itโ€™ll give you the motivation and action steps you need to kick start your marketing.
Our directors, Dave Sutton and Mark Copeman created the almost 5 hour programme to lay down their experiences and talk about the good bad and ugly of MSP marketing. Youโ€™ll find a bunch of downloads and checklists in the programme too.
